Happy Layout | Prima Marketing DT

Hi there,
Today I'm sharing my first layout on the prima blog today
I'm still so excited and totally honoured to be part of the team!!
With this layout I wanted the main focal point to be bold and pop on the page
And I felt that the way to do hat was to have a white background as I noticed with the last layout I done it was busy with the background pattern and I felt that the design got lost with the background so I decided on staying with my white cardstock would do the trick nicely, and because I love designing cut files to go with my layouts

I've used my butterfly cut files for this layout
I knew that I wanted it to be the focal point so I decided on the marbled black patterned paper
And having the dark floral as the border to tie the colours in , and as you all know who follow my blog and work I Love fussy cutting flowers, one of my favourite things to add to a layout if I can! So that was my next step to add lots of flowers around the butterfly and the photo and of course I had a few little flowers that are planner flowers and they just added that extra pop with the Haley flowers

And of cause I have to add that machine stitching in the background giving it that extra texture around the boarder of the layout and the flicking of black and white gesso mixing it to get a grey tone to blend with the layout

If you love my cutfiles you can find a link in the sidebar--> to my store
They are fun to play with and once you own them you can keep cutting them out
Thanks for checking out my blog today!!

i Love you Tag | prima marketing DT

Hi there,
Today I'm sharing a tag created for prima marketing
Create something using a stencil!
I love creating tags ,and they are so easily turned into cards and are just a great gift idea

Using the patterned paper from the rose quartz collection
I cut a tag shape and using the tubaroses stencil I applied white gesso to it
Then I used one of the watercolour pencils to add pink and smeared it over the gesso and stencil
Then I left it to dry before adding to white cardstock and machine stitching the edges

Then using the rose quartz collection ephemera I clustered them off center of the tag
Adding some fussy cut flowers from one of the rose quartz patterned papers
Then I added some cotton threads and a flower in the center with a few lovely leaves and tucking a few of those
Little feathers in the bottom underneath the flower..

Thanks for checking out my blog today

Delightful layout | Prima marketing DT

Hi there,
Today I'm sharing a layout I was having a play around with using the gessos
black and white through a stencil on the lovely patterned paper from prima
I know a lot of crafty peeps don't use gesso with stencils but I wanted to show you that with the heavy gesso you can do just that and with the white gesso you can add any colour you want to it
So if you're just getting into mixed media you don't need a tone of product to start off with

I fussy cut flowers and used them in the background to give a bit more colour
With the fabulous Haley flowers

potted kitty layout | Doodlebug design DT

Hi there,
Today I'm sharing a layout of our little kitty Luna who has taken over a pot I was going to put seedlings in I'm so glad I didn't because she would have squished them lol....

I started by marking out where I wanted my butterflies to be with a lead pencil then poked the holes
Then I added the washi tape to the top and bottom of my layout then using the twine and a needle I stitched
Using my cameo I cut 8 butterflies out 4 small and 4 big and layered them on top of each other and then adding a button in the middle

Then I cut some bits of patterned paper to go in the middle of my page
Then I gathered other little bits cutting the different sizes to stager them for layering behind my photo
Using the spring things odds and ends I added a few die cuts on the left hand side of my photo

Tucked in a doily and a mini paper clip and added the title and I was done

I used one of my cut files and back it with free spirit 6x6 paper pad and add double sided foam tape on the back
I matted my white cardstock on patterned paper from st. tropez and machine stitched around the edge

I added a flower from the rose quartz collection in the centre of the cut file flower

For my title I used the chipboard from st. tropez
And matted my photo on st. tropez patterned paper and fairy belle

so very lovely Layout - Shop and Crop Kit club

Hi there,
Today I'm sharing a baby layout of my daughter eve ,with a few leftover bits of patterned papers
and stickers from the carta Bella collection it's a girl
I had this bright yellow polka dot patterned paper I wanted to use as the boarder around my white cardstock

Then I machine stitched around the edge of my cardstock to create a stitched border
Then I wanted to add some paint before adding my photo and flowers
I used a paint brush and some samco pink paint I had in my stash and mixed it with a little bit of gesso to lighten it so it would be a softer color then I brushed it on then aloud it to dry naturally after it was dry I added some dark pink splats and some yellow across the background then aloud to dry and added the stencil across the background
Then aloud that to dry then it was time to embellish the layout with flowers and stickers

Here is my process video I hope you enjoy it

Pinwheel Decor | Doodlebug design DT

Hi there ,
sharing a bit of fun Decor with the odds and ends
I love to make stuff just for fun and to decorate my craft studio and theirs nothing like a bit of colour to brighten up the room then these cute little die cuts and handmade pinwheels

I pulled out all the odds and ends they're so cute don't you think!!

They are fun and so simple to make
Here is my process video to show you how I made them

The big outside pinwheel is 6 inch and the little one in the middle is 3 inch
And the small pinwheel is 3 inch and middle is 2 inch
And on the edges I use some border punches to the edges

And decorating the tin can was super easy
I just covered the can with a strip of patterned paper and then cut 2 strips
and using my paper edges scissors I add a scalloped edge then add a doily in the middle and popped a clear die cut from the odds and ends pack.

I hope you have enjoyed my inspiration today

Summer Sunshine Layout

Hi there,
Today I'm sharing a layout I created just having a play with some primamarketing St. tropez and free spirit
My favorite thing todo is to fussy cut flowers and add them around my photo and background
I've been loving using black gesso and a paint brush lately for my background using paint strokes as a feature on the background really makes the patterned paper pop

Then I added a stencil tubaroses with some light pink textured paste
Across the paint strokes to add more dimension and colour

Then I started to add all the fussy cut flowers at the top and bottom of my layout
I added my photo in the center and using some patterned paper for some layers behind my photo
And tucking some of the fussy cut flowers around the photo

And I added some die cut doilies around the photo tucked just under the layers
I also added some pink flowers from the rose quartz collection because I only had 3 flowers left over
I separated the bottom petals and added a bit of bling in one and tucked it under the top right corner of my photo
I added chipboard for my title and a little bow in the top left hand corner of the photo

I found a butterfly stamp I had and stamped it 3 times and covered it in clear embossing powder and heat embossed it
And added it in 3 places on my layout
